Breast cancer: know your normal
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Indian women. Found early, it is easier to treat.
Check with a health worker
- Women aged 30 to 65 can get a breast check (clinical breast examination)
- It is offered at government health centres
- Repeat every 5 years, or as your doctor advises
Know your own body
- Look at and feel your breasts once a month
- Learn what is normal for you
- If something changes, see a doctor soon
About mammograms
- A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast
- Ask your doctor if you need one, especially after 40
- Or if a close relative had breast cancer
